THE CALL TO WORSHIP:
Leader:   Our society isn’t always a friendly place.
People:   We see people yell and scream and make gestures.
Leader:   There are also unkind acts done to helpless people around the world.
People:   We get stressed with work and family and pains that linger.
Leader:    Don’t we have the right to get upset at the world and even you, God?
All:        Since you know all about us, yet still love us God, we will use this hour to praise You, to question and complain, and to plead with You to change us and the world.  Bring Your rightful rule quickly, Lord!

Most High God, You undergird us in so many ways.  You have knit us together with Jesus and his followers.  We often fail to stand with them in upright living.  We long for the peace of solitude, but
you call us to be brave peacemakers in the conflicts of society.  Forgive our sin.  Energize us to run the race faithfully, until we serve You in glory, with the saints from all the ages.  (Silent personal prayer)
