*UNISON PRAYER OF CONFESSION:
  Compassionate God, from before the birth of the world, you chose us to be your people.  We find that confounding, for we are a strange people!  We bellow aloud the latest songs, but barely open our mouths to sing praise to you.  We become ecstatic about a Penguin goal, a Pirate homer or a Steeler touchdown, but muster scant enthusiasm for the victory of Jesus.  We shed tears over the make-believe plight of soap opera characters, but are out of touch with hurting people up the street.
  We’ve become trapped in a meaningless round of activities that does not satisfy.  We have fed our bodies but neglected to feed our souls.  Please forgive us, God.  Free us from the numbing apathy of society.  Wake us to your Kingdom vision.  Connect us to Christ’s team.  Energize us to bring your light to a world dim with hope.

Prayer Person – Our prayer person this week is Juanita Farrer.  May God’s blessings be with her in the coming weeks. 

“Souper Bowl” – The Mission & Finance Committee is collecting cans of soup for the Ebensburg Food Pantry.  Please bring them and place them on the pulpit area.  We will collect soup through February 12th.

Ash Wednesday Luncheon – will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, Johnstown at noon on February 22.  The speaker will be Rodney Murray.  A free-will offering will be taken.  If you plan to attend please reply by Feb. 15 to their church office at 536-8141.

Pine Springs Camp Open House – will be held Saturday, April 28 from 10 am to 2 pm.  There will be games, a climbing wall, camp tours and lunch.  If you have never been to Pine Springs Camp, this is your chance to get a close-up look at what PSC is all about.

2012 Per Capita – is $25 per member.  Please consider paying this amount to the church as soon as possible.  Just mark your envelope or the memo on your check and then we are responsible for sending the full amount to the Redstone Presbytery.  Thank you!
